Parish Missions are special opportunities to hear preaching and receive spiritual guidance. It is a time for healing, spiritual renewal, and growth. Missions are held periodically, often near the beginning of Lent. In 2022, we chose to also host an Easter Mission. More will be planned for 2022-2023.
Fr. Blaise Czaja (“chai-ah”) was born and raised in Port Arthur, Texas. After high school, he entered the Passionist seminary in St. Louis MO, and was professed as a Passionist on July 9, 1957. Following major seminary studies, was ordained a priest in Louisville KY, on May 23, 1964.
His first assignment as a priest was to direct the seminarians of his order as they prepared for the profession of vows and ordination.
In l972 he began preaching Parish Missions full time. This has been his basic ministry, interwoven with internal ministries of the Passionist Community as a local superior, member of his provincial council, and a missionary to India. He was in India for the better part of three years (2001-2004).
Since his return to the United States, Fr. Blaise has been a local superior of the Passionist Community in Houston, Texas. He presently lives at the Christ the King Passionist Community in Citrus Heights, California, and continues to preach Parish Missions.
