Born in Houston, Texas, Ruth Barrera is the oldest of four. Ruth was baptized on April 13^th, 1997, at Assumption Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Spring, Texas and attended one of the local High Schools in Klein ISD. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Houston. With a heart for service and a deep love for the God, Ruth first served as a Youth Ministry Administrative Assistant at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community for nearly five years before stepping into a new role as a Foster Parent Recruiter for Arrow Child & Family Ministries. After almost two years in that position, she felt a strong calling from God to return to youth ministry and now joyfully serves as the Coordinator of Youth Ministry for Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community. Drawing on personal experiences, academic background, and a lifelong connection to the Eucharist, Ruth is passionate about creating meaningful, faith filled experiences for youth and families.
