If you or someone you know is caring for an Alzheimer's patient, you may know that caregivers often find it difficult to do things such as . . .
♦ go out to lunch
♦ visit friends
♦ run their own errands
♦ have some time alone
Routine activities are especially hard on those who are confined to their home 24 hours a day, as they care for their loved ones.
"The Gathering Place" can make an enormous difference to the caregiver's care partner through creative activities, loving care, and a chance to meet new friends.
Alzheimer's Respite Care seeks to help both the caregiver and care-partner. We provide the caregivers with some much-needed rest while we give the care partners a time of fun and fellowship.
Glossary of Terms
Care Partner - a person who is affected by the early stages of Alzheimer's or related dementia.
Caregiver - a person caring for a loved one with early to moderate stages of Alzheimer's or related dementia.
"The Gathering Place" - a safe, loving environment providing programs and lunch for our care partners.
Who is eligible?
A representative from Interfaith CarePartners and our care team work together to determine if we can help meet the family's needs. This may include arranging for the caregiver and care partner to attend "The Gathering Place" together for the first visit.
This "no-cost" monthly program will vary, often featuring a festive theme to help the care partner identify with the current season, event, and/or holiday.
